I have this great training from Tony Robbins that I purchased quite a few years ago. It's called Get the Edge. In it are TONS of great tips for success in health, finances, career and relationships. In one part Robbins gives 7 key tips for success in any endeavor. I want to highlight 4 of the key success tips from that training in this post. I will highlight the other 3 in the next post.
This is a very simple concept. You literally have to get to the point that you are so sick of not realizing your goals, hopes and dreams that you are physically and emotionally disturbed about it. In other words you have to say to yourself:
“I am sick of this and I am NOT going to take it anymore!”
For most of us it is only when we are at a place of total emotional and mental frustration that we will finally dig ourselves in, stop making inane excuses, and go for our hopes and dreams. The question for you and me really is …
Are you literally disturbed by your lack of success?
Make a Decision
Once you are completely disturbed you MUST decide to do something about it. No excuses can or should hold you back. You should decide what you will do , specifically, to turn it all around. The difference between successful and unsuccessful people is right here:
Successful people DECIDED they would change their lives.
They knew that it was up to them, and them alone, to make their dreams become a reality. I came to that place of decision. I realized that the reason I had not enjoyed success the way I wanted to enjoy it came down to only one thing: I had NOT decided to change my life. I got tired of the blame game and the excuses. I made the decision that started this journey toward the success I have always wanted. It was one of the best decisions of my life.
Make a Massive Action Plan: M. A. P.
Results will only come when you and I plan for them. Words like “luck” and “chance” are words rarely used by the successful people of this world. Successful people make their own luck and create their own opportunities. Robbins said that action is not enough. He said:
The action you take needs to be massive and all-consuming. It must be emotionally charged action!
My first action step was to align myself with two very successful home business marketers. I joined their team and each day I diligently follow their training. Everyday I take many action steps that move me closer and closer to the full accomplishment of my dreams and goals. I dive into more training programs and implement all that I learn. Results are coming faster than I expected. Some of the training programs can be found HERE (and they are FREE).
Massive action is a major key to success. Wishing, hoping, and wanting are paths to failure. Focused action is the key!
Overcome your Limiting Beliefs
I used to argue with those who constantly told me that success is rooted in a proper mindset. I couldn't understand how my thoughts could possibly control my results. But Earl Nightingale taught us that EXPECTANCY begins in the mind of people. Expectancy is a state of believing that we should expect good things to happen rather than simply hope for them. If we don't expect good results we likely will never see good results.
Robbins stressed that many of us constantly focus on why we can't succeed rather than why we can. Limiting beliefs are the things we tell ourselves about our expectations. We self-sabotage our success by constantly telling ourselves that we will not succeed or this will not work. We simply must overcome the tendency to always focus on why things will not work for us.
